Honda introduced the new generation of Legend limousine

After a hiatus of several months, Honda's flagship with the traditional designation Legend is returning to the Honda range . At first glance, you can't deny the kinship with the Acura RLX , but thanks to this, it is also the most technically sophisticated Honda of today.

The most interesting thing that the new Legend has to offer is the powertrain, which comes from the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD . The front axle is powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder i-VTEC with an output of 314 hp and a torque of 371 Nm, supplemented by an electric motor with an output of 48 hp and a torque of 148 Nm. On the rear axle we find another pair of electric motors with a power of 37 hp and a torque of 78 Nm. The total power of the system is 382 hp and a torque of 461 Nm, there are a total of three driving modes available – front-wheel drive (front engines), rear-wheel drive (rear engines) or all-wheel drive (all engines combined). The Legend can also run purely on petrol, electricity or as a hybrid. In any case, you get a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and 260-volt lithium-ion batteries. All these values are enough for the dynamics of an eight-cylinder sedan with the consumption of a four-cylinder sedan.

As a proper limousine, the 4982 mm long , 1890 mm wide and 1465 mm high Legend with a wheelbase of 2850 mm will pamper its crew with a top-quality Krell audio system with fourteen speakers, a color screen for the rear passengers, built into the center tunnel, the most modern version of the multimedia system or leather upholstery . The driver has at his disposal a head-up display, digital alarms and an entire army of safety assistants. In addition to the already established blind spot monitoring, recognition of road signs or automatic brakes, the Legend was the first car in the world to receive a system that detects pedestrians on the road and can "pull" the vehicle to the side . For this, it uses radar and camera data recorded in the front part of the car.

Apart from the badges and the model name, the design itself does not differ from Acura. The most interesting are obviously the LED front lights , referred to as Jewel Eye. So far, sales will only start in Japan on January 22 next year, the basic price was set at 6,800,000 yen (approx. 1,304,000 crowns).
