Alfa has released more information about the sharp Giulia

Representatives of the world's most important motoring media met the new Alfa Giulia QV for the first time in June this year, at a special event in the brand's museum. Ordinary mortals have the opportunity to see the sports sedan for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show , which opens to the public tomorrow.

In Hesse, however, you will no longer meet a model bearing the designation QV (Quadrifoglio Verde), but only Q (Quadrifoglio) . At the same time, Alfa has for the first time ever given a glimpse into the interior, which is primarily based on the interaction between the driver and the Connect 3D Nav system with an 8.8-inch TFT display. All important controls, including the start button, are located on the steering wheel, the mentioned infotainment can be controlled via the Rotary Pad and even with voice or gestures. Connectivity with the iOS and Android operating systems, navigation with three-dimensional imaging and reception of a digital radio signal are not missing. The equipment will also include a Harman Kardon Sound Theater stick audio with a 12-channel amplifier, surround sound and 14 speakers. The last important item around the driver is the Alfa DNA Pro drive mode selector with Dynamic, Natural, Advanced Efficient and Racing modes. The latter works with the Chassis Demand Control (CDC) system, which controls all on-board electronics including torque vectoring, active front splitter, active suspension and electronic stability control.

A turbocharged 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine with a power of 510 hp and a torque of 600 Nm, which was also worked on by Ferrari, for example, is still bubbling under the hood. Thanks to the use of aluminum, carbon or aluminum composites for the structure and bodywork, Alfa managed to achieve a power-to-weight ratio of less than 3 kilograms per horse. The dry weight is 1524 kilograms , in addition optimally distributed in a ratio of 50:50. The result of the intensive diet is acceleration to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 307 km/h. As a concession to European emission limits, the Giulia Q has a cylinder deactivation system, reducing CO2 emissions to 198 g/km. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels , where we also find a differential with torque vectoring separately for each wheel.

The chassis uses a multi-element axle at the rear, double wishbones are modified at the front, which are accompanied by redesigned steering axles. And when it comes to steering, its transmission is supposed to be the sharpest in the segment. Aerodynamics were also spared, so for example the active front splitter can generate up to 100 kilograms of downforce at maximum speed. The wheels with a typical Italian design hide an integrated braking system behind them, which can slow the car down from 100 km/h in 32 meters. This will be especially useful on racing circuits, the most famous of which, the North Loop of the Nürburgring , was managed by the Italians in 7 minutes and 39 seconds.

The basic price of the sharp Giulia on the Italian market should be around 79,000 euros (approx. 2,142,000 crowns), in the first wave (immediately after the motor show) it will be possible to order only the version with carbon-ceramic brakes or Sparco carbon seats for 95,000 euros (approx. 2,575,000 crowns).
