Ferrari introduced the modernized form of California

Ferrari's biggest surprise in Geneva is likely already after the premiere. Project 149M , which was announced for Geneva a few days ago, means the modernized Ferrari California , which has also received the letter T in its name.

Let's look for the biggest change in the facelifted California under the hood – there, instead of the naturally aspirated 490-horsepower eight-cylinder, a 3.9-liter, 560-horsepower twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine moved in. The torque value jumped even more significantly – from 505 to 755 Nm ! The unit itself has origins in Maserati, specifically the Quattroporte and Ghibli models. However, Ferrari adjusted its volume by 0.1 liter and increased the power by 30 hp.

The 1625 kg car with a length of 4570 mm can now accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the older model . At the same time, the maximum speed value jumped from 312 km/h to 316 km/h. On the other hand, paper consumption has dropped by 15% compared to its predecessor to 10.5 l/100 km, 250 g of CO2/km gets into the air during 1 km of driving.

The steering has been modified, boasting an immediate reaction to pressing the gas pedal , the springs are also new, and the equipment includes the latest generation of Magnaride adaptive shock absorbers, which work 50% faster than before. CCM3 carbon-ceramic brakes , which can stop from 100 km/h in 34 meters, are available for an extra charge. F1-Trac traction control is represented in its latest generation in the new California T.

From a design point of view, the inspiration of the newer F12berlinetta coupe is evident, especially in the rendering of the front part, which has new lights, a larger radiator grille and a vented hood. Behind the front wheels, a larger protrusion appears, and in the rear you will notice a new diffuser and modified headlights. The fixed folding roof , which you can fold or extend in 14 seconds, has been preserved.
