The collaboration between Toyota and BMW will bring the new Lexus LFA

This is not the first time that we have written about the cooperation of Toyota and BMW in the construction of a new sports model on our website . After several speculations in which the name of the Toyota Supra appeared, the new generation of the Lexus LFA is starting to be revealed.

A well-informed source of Motoring magazine revealed that the successor to the super sports Lexus is being cooked in Japanese factories. This is also indicated by the fact that one of the specimens of the plug-in hybrid BMW i8 was spotted in the parking lot at the Toyota test site, on which the Japanese automaker is allegedly testing the endurance of the carbon frame.

The new LFA will be powered by a hybrid system , which will receive an electric motor from Toyota and a gasoline engine from BMW. It is speculated that the 4.4-liter turbocharged petrol eight-cylinder that is installed in the current generation BMW M5 has been chosen as the most suitable candidate. Its advantage is that it can extract roughly the same number of horses from the lower volume and number of cylinders as the ten-cylinder in the original LFA.
