Toyota presented its most luxurious minivan to date

As a manager of a successful small business, you want to be in constant contact with your subordinates, but the Ford Transit Combi is simply not representative. Then you can go for the Mercedes V-Class or something less conventional – specifically the Toyota Esquire .

Esquire is an almost identical triplet of the pair Voxy and Noah , which Toyota has been successfully selling on the domestic market for some time. After all, even the 4695 mm long model presented today will not go anywhere else. The design of the angular body with a width of 1695 mm, a height of 1825 mm and a wheelbase of 2850 mm catches the eye almost at first sight with a really huge chrome T-shaped radiator grille with a distinctive logo that combines a shield, a sword, a gentleman's suit collar and the letters Esq. Chrome, denoting a luxurious concept, can also be found on the mirrors, around the side windows and on the lid of the fifth door.

Depending on the version, you will "accommodate" 7 to 8 passengers in the interior, who will enjoy quality materials and the famous precise Japanese workmanship. In the second level Gi, which will probably be the most preferred according to Toyota, you will find complete upholstery with synthetic leather , wooden panels, metallic decorations and, of course, air conditioning. Thanks to the height of 1400 mm, movement in the cabin, especially in the seven-seater configuration with separate seats in the second row, will be quite comfortable. In addition to luxurious materials, the equipment, even if only extra, also includes a T-Connect navigation system with voice control or an intelligent parking assistant that can find a parking space by itself. Handicapped people will certainly be pleased with the offer of the Welcab version , which is adapted for the transport of such people and offers, for example, a ramp (even electric for an additional fee) or a specially modified second row of seats (which is even extendable). Similar to the standard model, you can choose from a seven- or eight-seater configuration, and the specialty is a configuration for transporting six people.

Under the hood, it will be possible to choose from two power units. The more conventional one is a two-liter petrol with an output of 152 hp at 6000 rpm with a torque of 193 Nm at 3800 rpm, which when using the Super-CVT-i automatic and front-wheel drive consumes 6.3 l/100 km, respectively 6.8 l/100 km if you choose the four-wheel drive. The second option is a hybrid system with an Atkinson cycle with a combined output of 136 hp (the 18-cylinder petrol engine has 99 hp and the electric motor 82 hp). Only the front wheels are driven via the eCVT automatic , consumption is only 4.2 l/100 km in the Japanese cycle. Only the first two-liter is available for the Welcab version.

The Toyota Esquire will be offered in Xi and Gi trim levels , with the base price for the eight-seat model with a two-liter engine and front-wheel drive set at 2,592,000 yen (approx. 514,000 crowns). The basic price of the seven-seat version is 2,622,857 yen (approx. 520,000 crowns), the all-wheel drive in the eight-seat configuration will cost at least 2,797,714 yen (approx. 554,000 crowns) and the higher Gi equipment will cost at least 2,792,571 yen (approx. 553,000 crowns ). The hybrid version starts at 3,043,543 yen (approx. 603,000 crowns). The Esquire Welcab is offered only in grade Xi and its price starts at 2,727,000 yen (approx. 540,000 crowns). Sales will start by the end of the year through Toyota and Toyopet dealerships, the monthly plan is to sell 4,000 units.
