The modernized Audi A7 Sportback is heading to Leipzig

Not only the Citroën DS3 , but also the Audi A7 Sportback has reached roughly the middle of its life cycle. The result is a facelift , which slightly sharpened the shapes of the elegant four-door coupe.

The single-frame radiator grille received a new look, the front bumper was also redesigned, yet the biggest change in the design area remains the use of Matrix LED lights , which are already used by, for example, the A8 limousine. Matrix LEDs are an extra charge for the A7, so the only LEDs you can enjoy in the standard equipment are found in the rear lights.

In the interior, Audi focuses mainly on improved quality of materials and the use of completely new materials. The second category includes aluminum trim, Beaufort wood trim (according to Audi, it's walnut) and Valcona leather upholstery . Up to 5 different color shades are now available for the seat covers. The MMI navigation system received a new Nvidia processor and is also offered as standard with an Internet connection using the LTE system. Among the assistance systems, Audi offers, for example, night vision , adaptive cruise control with stop & go function or lane departure monitoring.

Under the hood, there are two performance variants of the recently introduced six- cylinder diesel engine 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel . In the A7 Sportback, they are tuned to 218 and 272 hp respectively, and in the ultra version this engine claims only 4.7 l/100 km and emits 122 g of CO2/km into the atmosphere. However, there is also a more powerful version of the 3.0 TDI with double turbocharging and 320 horsepower. It is available with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic. The rest of the engines, including two petrol engines, work with a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. The S7 Sportback version is powered by a turbocharged eight-cylinder 4.0 TFSI with an output of 450 hp and also benefits from the COD (cylinder deactivation) function.
