The new S-Class Coupé is presented as a concept

The Mercedes-Benz CL coupe will soon be a thing of the past. Already next year, it will be replaced by the similarly sized S-Class Coupé , which is being presented in conceptual form at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show .

At first glance, you wouldn't even guess the relationship with a large limousine. The exterior design is a kind of mixture of the new "eska" , four- door CLS coupe and completely new elements. These include, above all, the rendering of the rear part with horizontal headlights made of LEDs. The front end is more aggressive than the base sedan, with flared fenders housing 21-inch wheels with 265/35 front and 295/35 rear tires.

The interior is tuned to light tones, which are combined with light blue backlighting of some elements. Compared to the classic S-class, the coupe has a new steering wheel, ventilation vents, and the center console is dominated by a multi-function touchscreen , which is visually connected to the rest of the instrument panel. Similar to the "esku", a digital 12.3-inch display appears in the place of classic alarm clocks. The materials used in the cabin are first-class – the seats and dashboard are upholstered in calf leather, aluminum appears in the door panels and air conditioning vents, and the roof and carpets are upholstered in hand-woven silk.

The 5,050 mm long , 1,985 mm wide and 1,409 mm high coupe with a 2,945 mm wheelbase is powered by a 4.7 Biturbo eight-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 461 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. The coupe is equipped with the Intelligent Drive system , which benefits from two stereo cameras that provide a 3D view of the space 50 meters in front of the car. The system also detects the condition of the road in the vicinity of 500 meters from the vehicle, which helps both the safety systems and the Magic Body Control system, which adapts the chassis tuning to the given conditions.
