The new generation of Toyota Crown

Everyone knows classic cars like Mini, Fiat 500 or Volkswagen Golf . However, few people know about the Toyota Crown , a car that has been in production since 1955 and this week is already in its 14th generation!

It differs quite significantly from its predecessor and even more significantly from the very first generation. However, the design corresponds to the time of creation . For a long time now, the Crown has been available in two versions – the more luxurious Royal and the sportier Athlete . The Athlete differs from the Royal with a sports body kit, a different grille or sports seats. Just as you would expect from a sports version.

The interior of the Crown model itself looks luxurious, and in both versions the center panel consists of two displays. Four adult passengers can comfortably sit inside, although the length of 4895 mm promises perhaps a little more.

Look for one of three units under the hood of both versions. The role of the basic engine is performed by a six-cylinder 2.5 with a power of 203 hp . It is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission and can transmit power to the rear or all wheels. The six-cylinder is also stronger, but with a volume of 3.5 liters and a power of 315 horsepower . It is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power exclusively to the rear wheels.

The third unit underwent a major modernization, namely a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine connected to an electric motor . Yes, even a luxury limousine can be a hybrid. The total power of the system is now 178 horsepower and is transmitted only and only to the rear wheels!
