The new Audi Quattro concept will be revealed in Frankfurt

Last week we informed you that Audi is probably preparing a new concept study with the old-new designation Quattro. Just yesterday, the automaker itself confirmed earlier speculations and a real monster will visit the Frankfurt exhibition center.

If you remember correctly, the concept from 2010 was built on the basis of the Audi RS5 , but the upcoming study for this year will be based on the shortened platform of the Audi RS7 . If you expect only a conventional engine these days, I have to disappoint you. The second Quattro concept will have a 4.0 -liter twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder with an output of over 600 horsepower in the engine compartment, to which an electric motor with an output of 170 horsepower will be connected.

The plug-in hybrid concept will offer a total output of almost 800 horsepower and a torque of 1,000 Nm. Power will be transmitted to all wheels through an as yet unknown gearbox. The new Audi Quattro accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 300 km/h. It will also have sports adaptive suspension, ceramic brakes or a limited-slip differential .

We will most likely see the serial version in 2016, but unfortunately it will be a limited production . The price should start at an amount higher than 200,000 Euro (converted to about 5.2 million crowns).
