This year is marked by celebrations – Porsche celebrates 50 years of the 911 series , Chevrolet even 60 years of the Corvette series . As such a small gift, the American car company has prepared the very first limited edition of the new Corvette Stingray , which also starts serial production of the new model.
It is called the Premiere Edition , which is quite telling in itself. The new edition is based on the top model 3LT coupe version . The exterior will have the same color scheme for all units sold – Laguna blue paint , complete with a carbon roof and a carbon "stripe" on the hood. There are special wheels that are chrome and have the Stingray logo in the center. The interior received a brown shade of Brownstone , a plaque with the model number, carbon trim and door sills with the inscription Stingray.
Under the hood is a 6.2 LT1 series eight-cylinder engine that produces 466 hp and 630 Nm of torque thanks to a modified exhaust system. The engine is mated to a seven-speed manual, and this combination allows acceleration to 96 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a 1/4 mile run in 12 seconds. The Premiere Edition also offers magnetic dampers and the ZL1 package , which includes an electronic limited-slip differential, modified cooling or better brakes.
Production of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition is limited to 500 units. Each customer will receive a set of five branded luggage with the car as a bonus. However, Chevrolet does not say at what price the car will be sold.
