The SRT Viper will get an even sportier variant

The new generation of the legendary American sports car called the Viper has not yet been able to make all its customers happy, and Chrysler is already preparing the introduction of a sharper version of the ACR !

It should be shown sometime during 2014 and will offer similar modifications as its predecessor. This means a new front bumper, a more aerodynamic body or a large rear wing .

But that will not be all. It goes without saying that the weight is reduced (thanks to which, by the way, the previous Viper ACR broke several records on the Nordschleife) and Chrysler, and thus the SRT department, is already starting to think about increasing the power (for comparison, the previous ACR did not even have an extra horsepower).

A slight problem, however, is a statement from SRT division chief Ralph Gilles , who previously stated that the Viper's power-to-weight ratio must not exceed the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta's power-to-weight ratio, which is 2.3 kg per horsepower.

That could derail plans to beef up the 649-horsepower 8.4 V10 in the standard Viper. For the sake of interest, I will mention that the F12 has a twelve-cylinder 6.2 with a power of 740 horsepower.

So will Ferrari spoil the preparations of a more powerful Viper? We'll have to wait another Friday for that…
