For the first time since 1994, the Range Rover range will feature an extended wheelbase version. The British manufacturer wants to offer an alternative to classic limousines, which have been offering this "convenience" for many years.
Compared to the classic Range Rover, the L version is 140 mm longer . All of this value goes to the benefit of the passengers in the rear seats, as the extension occurred in front of the rear axle. The automaker also boasts that, despite the increase in length, the silhouette of the model has remained almost untouched, and the average person does not even recognize the extended model from the classic one (if we ignore the small "L" marks on the side of the body).
In the rear part of the model, the customer can choose from two types of seats – Executive Class , which are two separate seats, or a classic three-seater bench . Either way, thanks to the longer wheelbase, the seats can be manipulated within a range of 17 degrees – 8 degrees more than in the classic model. However, if this value is still not enough, there is also the Seat Away function , thanks to which the front passenger seat moves as far forward as possible.
To ensure greater comfort, the Range Rover L is equipped with blinds to cover the side windows and a glass panoramic roof. The extended variant will be available in the Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography and Autobiography Black trim levels, and a hybrid model will also arrive at the beginning of next year. The premiere will take place at the end of November in Guangzhou and Los Angeles.
The second novelty in the Range Rover range is the Autobiography Black trim level, available for both the short and extended models. This version is the responsibility of the Engineered To Order department and you can recognize it from the outside by the unique radiator grille, modified side air vents and other rear lights. The design of the seven-spoke 21-inch or 22-inch wheels will also be unique.
Inside, a pair of air-conditioned Executive Class seats with premium upholstery in a unique design and a massage function, a central tunnel for rear passengers with a pair of folding tables in black leather with a USB port and LED lighting are standard. Air-conditioned massage seats adjustable in eighteen directions will also be available to the driver and passenger. The premiere of this model will take place at the beginning of November in Dubai .
