Porsche showed the lightweight Boxster Spyder

The Spyder version appeared in the Porsche Boxster range already in the last generation and received well-deserved applause for its retro design and low weight. There was no reason to change these ingredients even in the new generation , which also uses elements of the Cayman GT4 and the larger 911 Carrera.

The shape of the rear hood with two "bumps" behind the headrests refers to the famous 718 Spyder model from the 1960s. Next to the engine, there is also a roof with a lighter mechanism , which is controlled manually. Electric motors are too heavy. For a change, the front and rear bumpers come from the already introduced Cayman GT4 , which gives the car the necessary dose of aggression. In addition, the entire car is 20 mm closer to the road thanks to the sports chassis.

The driver and passenger sit in lightweight shell seats, additional kilograms saved by the lack of air conditioning and radio . However, both can be obtained without extra charge, on the other hand, the PCM multimedia system will cost an extra euro. For the best possible driving experience, the Boxster Spyder has a steering wheel with a diameter of 360 mm.

The 3.8-liter six-cylinder in the middle has an output of 375 horsepower and is exclusively paired with a six-speed manual transmission . Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds and continues smoothly up to 290 km/h, consumption is at the level of 9.9 l/100 km. In order to properly use the already mentioned smaller steering wheel, the Boxster Spyder received modified steering . The high-performance brakes come from the 911 Carrera.
