Porsche showed the new 911 GT3 RS in Geneva

At the Geneva Porsche stand , the main attention is focused on quite possibly the brand's most attractive car to drive in the last few years. However, the Cayman GT4 will not remain alone, as the more powerful and lightweight 911 GT3 RS celebrates its premiere right next to it.

Under its hood, you would find a newly developed flat-six four-liter engine with direct injection that has a maximum power of 500 horsepower and a torque of 520 Nm. The biggest deficit compared to the smaller Cayman may be the standard fitted seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic with a variable differential on the rear wheels, which, for a change, has torque vectoring, sending power to the rear axle. In this combination, acceleration from rest to 100 km/h takes 3.3 seconds , to 200 km/h 10.9 seconds and the speedometer needle stops at 322 km/h! The 911 GT3 RS takes 7 minutes and 20 seconds to complete one lap on the Nordschleife.

The body is made of aluminum , but the roof is made of magnesium and the hood of the engine and the lid of the luggage compartment are made of carbon-reinforced plastics. This helped reduce the weight by 10 kg to a final 1420 kg. From the category of functional modifications, there is an additional air supply to the engine, its redesigned hood and an adjustable rear wing. The forged wheels have a central nut , but this corresponds to the classic GT3. The cabin has changed in detail, with the color of the seat upholstery matching the body paint, the central tachometer having a white background , the steering wheel covered in Alcantara and the decorative panels in carbon fiber.
