Porsche 984 – Four-seater 918 planned!

The hybrid supercar Porsche 918 Spyder was introduced in serial form only recently, and we already have speculations about its derivative variants. Although it will probably sound crazy, the German manufacturer is reportedly considering a four-seater sedan !

With the provisional name Porsche 984 , another sporty semi-sedan has surfaced on the Internet. We don't have any photos or sketches yet, but the shape is said to be an elongated 918 Spyder (photo in the gallery) with a second pair of doors. The roof line is supposed to be inspired by the iconic Porsche 911 , so the profile of the car will be closer to the already existing Panamera .

The Porsche 984 will use a lengthened version of the hybrid 918 Spyder 's carbon chassis to accommodate four passengers. The 4.6 liter eight-cylinder engine mounted in the middle should also remain. However, the latter will lose its connection to the electric motor and will instead receive a higher output, reportedly around 700 horsepower . This power will flow through the PDK transmission to the rear wheels .

The brand's designers have reportedly already built a model of the car, which is standing in the management building. So it's only a matter of time before we see the first photos. However, the serial form is still very far away, as it is expected to enter the markets in 2017 at the earliest .

Of course, the official price has not yet been determined, but it should be around half of the amount that Porsche is asking for the 918 Spyder , i.e. roughly 300,000 euros (7.6 million crowns). Although the automaker intends to produce the 984 only in low volume, the final number will not be limited in any way in advance.
