Paris 2012 – Four-wheeler for the Porsche 911 officially

Stuttgart- based Porsche has really armed itself for the currently ongoing Paris Motor Show. At the end of last week we talked about the Panamera Sport Turismo concept , now we will focus on the novelty of the latest generation of the 911 model . It got four-wheel drive for the coupe and cabriolet versions.

Yes, PTM four-wheel drive is an irreplaceable part of Porsche , just like flat boxer engines. The cheapest Carrera 4 version has a 3.4-liter six-cylinder with a maximum output of 257 kW hidden under the short rear hood. Power is sent to all wheels via a seven-speed manual or PDK automatic transmission. A car with a coupe body accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, a convertible is 0.2 seconds behind. The maximum speed of 285 km/h is valid for the coupé, the cabriolet is a negligible 3 km/h slower.

Of course, Porsche did not begrudge the more powerful Carrera 4S variant either. In this case, a boxer with a volume of 3.8 liters and a maximum power of 297 kW is hidden under the hood. The transmission of the herd of horses to the wheels is identical to the Carrera 4 version, only the acceleration time has been shortened. The coupé accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 310 km/h. The cabriolet is 0.2 seconds or 3 km/h slower.

Porsche plans to start selling both versions at the end of this year. The weaker Carrera 4 version will cost approximately CZK 2,447,300 in the coupe version, while the convertible will cost approximately CZK 270,000 more. It is similar with the more powerful Carrera 4S . Porsche will claim at least 2,763,700 CZK for the coupe, the convertible surpasses the magical threshold of three million by 35,000 crowns.
