The new Cadillac Elmiraj shows the future direction of the brand

Two years ago, Cadillac shocked the whole world with the breathtaking concept of the four-seater Ciel convertible . Today at Pebble Beach, its closed follower – the Elmiraj coupe – will be presented.

It takes inspiration not only from the beautiful convertible, but also from the legendary 1967 Eldorado coupe . The appearance of the 5.2 meter long, 1.93 meter wide and 1.4 meter high coupe shows the possible future direction of the automaker . And that it would be a beautiful direction! A massive front fascia, narrow vertical headlights with LEDs, a long hood and twenty-two-inch wheels. This car just has style.

The luxurious opulence continues inside as well, where four passengers are comfortably seated. Ventilated seats, armrests and dashboard are upholstered in camel leather , with Brazilian rosewood accents. What must not be missing are modern multimedia systems, represented in Cadillac by a ten-inch retractable display on a very futuristic center console.

Under the long hood there is no hybrid device or even an electric motor, but an honest eight-cylinder 4.5 with double turbocharging with an output of 507 hp and a torque of 678 Nm. He has to contend with a weight of 1814 kg. The chassis comes from elements that the American automaker plans to use on regular cars in the future.

The final pearl is the use of the brand's new logo , which appears on a Cadillac car for the very first time, and which will appear in series form at the earliest in 2015.
