Shelby's modified Mustang can also handle racetracks

At the end of last year, the Shelby GT350 appeared on the American market, the first Mustang of the sixth generation with Carroll Shelby's modification package. It didn't take too long and the GT350 designation appears again in conjunction with the Ford Mustang, but this time with an additional R.

At the same time, the 18th letter of the Latin alphabet indicates a coupe homologated for ordinary roads, which, however, feels more at home on a racetrack . Compared to the classic GT350 equipped with the Track Pack, the GT350R is 59 kg lighter. The largest part of this mass was saved by the lack of air conditioning , audio system, rear seats, trunk upholstery, reserve or rear parking camera. The missing exhaust resonators provide a more substantial sound. Almost 5.9 kg was saved by the carbon 19-inch wheels, the use of which made the Mustang one of the world's best .

The aerodynamic body package with a new bonnet, flared fenders, carbon front splitter , side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser is not only pretty to look at, but also functional. The red brake calipers and "fast stripes" in a different color than the body are a purely design matter. The interior features sports seats, complemented by a flattened steering wheel with a marked ideal position and a pair of alarm clocks in separate tubes. And those who would miss the aforementioned comfort equipment can opt for the Electronic package with two-zone automatic climate control, an eight-inch display of the multimedia system with navigation and seven-speaker audio.

Under the hood literally bubbles an atmospheric eight-cylinder Ford with a flat crankshaft with an output of more than 500 horsepower and a torque of more than 542 Nm. The rear wheels are driven via a six-speed manual gearbox , and the gearbox is amply assisted by a Torsen limited-slip differential.
