The modern Disco Volante has premiered

The Italian company Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera first presented the concept of the modern Disco Volante at last year's Geneva Motor Show . After that came some teasing teasers and finally the very premiere of the series version at the current exhibition in Geneva.

The brand said the new Disco Volante embodies a combination of craftsmanship, quality, innovative design and takes inspiration from the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante , which pioneered lightweight construction and aerodynamic design.

The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante is built on the Alfa Romeo 8C platform and will also feature aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) bodywork. The exterior also has a panoramic roof, a distinctive mask and a cool rear part, in which references to the predecessor are clearly visible. On the contrary, in the interior we will find upholstery in a combination of leather and alcantara, LED lighting and the Alpine information system. Anyway, all models are built individually, which means you can have whatever your heart desires in the cabin.

Under the hood we find a 4.7-liter eight-cylinder with a power of 450 horsepower and a torque of 480 Nm. The power unit is connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox, with which the Disco Volante accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 290 km/h. Yes, you guessed right, even the engine comes from the Alfa Romeo 8C .

Carrozzeria Touring did not say how much each piece will cost, but production will take about 6 months .
