Mitsuoka ends production of its most famous model

The Japanese car manufacturers Mazda, Toyota, Nissan or Honda are known to almost every car enthusiast in Europe who is a bit more knowledgeable. However, when you say Mitsuoka , I bet most people will look at you in disbelief, wondering what you're asking them. However, motorists whose knowledge also extends to the realms of exotic cars know that Mitsuoka is a Japanese small-series manufacturer of truly original cars. One such is the sports car Orochi , which was introduced back in 2001 and whose production is coming to an end these days.

Therefore, the Japanese manufacturer prepared a special series of eight cars called Final Orochi . Five cars will have a body in the purple shade of Fuyoru , the remaining three cars will receive a light color Gold Pearl . No matter which color the customer chooses, he always gets black nineteen-inch wheels , a decent front spoiler and a decent rear wing as well. The interior of the last five pieces will be upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara , which will also reach the steering wheel, and metallic decors will appear on the dashboard.

Under the hood we find a 3.3-liter six-cylinder originally from Toyota with an output of 233 hp and a torque of 328 Nm. The rear wheels are driven, to which the power is transmitted by a five-speed automatic transmission. The weight was kept at a relatively favorable 1580 kg . If you would like to buy a similar car, then prepare 12,700,000 yen (approx. 2,465,000 CZK).

In conclusion, it is appropriate to at least briefly recall the history of this freak , whose name is derived from the mythical eight-headed dragon Yamata no Orochi . The first pieces, based on the Honda NSX and with a coupe body, were presented as early as 2001 at the Tokyo Motor Show , but at that time they were still labeled a concept. It took until 2007 for Orochi to reach mainstream customers. In the meantime, specifically in 2005, an open version of this model was also shown in Tokyo. The number of produced pieces is limited to 400, and apart from the "classic" version, the Japanese company also prepared several special models . The car received the biggest criticism for its very specific appearance and not quite sporty parameters.
