Mercedes presented an extended version of the E-class sedan

The German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is showing a competitor to the extended versions of the Audi A6 and BMW 5 series sedans at the ongoing Shanghai Auto Show. The manufacturer responded to the growing demand for extended luxury sedans.

The length of the extended "E" is 5019 mm, while 3014 mm of this length is occupied by the wheelbase. This means that the wheelbase of the extended E-Class is 140 mm longer than that of the base model. In the interior, this is particularly evident in the rear seats, where there is 14 cm more space than in the classic version. The trunk offers a basic 540 liters.

The drive will be provided exclusively by three versions – the E 260 L BlueEFFICIENCY with a four-cylinder engine with an output of 204 hp, the E 300 L with a six-cylinder engine with an output of 245 hp and the E 400 L with a six-cylinder engine with an output of 333 hp. All versions will be equipped with an automatic transmission as standard.

The rest of the novelties copy those of the modernized "ečka" . There are also two designs of the front part to choose from, the Pre-Safe system or a camera with a 360-degree range. Only Chinese buyers will be able to enjoy the extended E-Class for an as yet unspecified price.
