The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is finally official

You know the feeling when a super sports car from the realm of dreams is standing in front of you, you sit in the fantastically shaped anatomical seats, grip the sports steering wheel with the perfect thickness and diameter in your hands, start the rumbling eight-cylinder engine, engage the gear and uncompromisingly send the gas pedal to the floor with the most blissful expression in face, what kind of motorist can he have? Don't you know? Does not matter. For more than £200,000, you can have a similar experience with the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series officially presented today , which will go on sale from the second quarter of next year.

I certainly don't need to introduce the term " Black Series " to the fans of this German car company for a long time, but just for the record, I will add that in combination with the SLS AMG model, this is the absolute pinnacle of the range, before which even the most powerful GT version has to bow. The engine is powered by an atmospheric eight-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6.2 liters and a maximum output of 464 kW (631 hp) at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 634 Nm. This, combined with a new intake, modified camshaft and improved cooling, means acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h. Can anyone be interested in consumption? If so, then the currently most powerful Mercedes can be driven for 13.7 liters per 100 kilometers. However, it will certainly not be a sharp pace. Let's move on.

Increased performance and improved dynamics go hand in hand with a significant reduction in weight, where 13 kilograms have been saved thanks to the titanium sports exhaust system. The sports seats are 15 kg lighter, the removal of the COMAND system meant 6 kg and the lithium-ion battery gained another 8 kg. We shouldn't forget the carbon package including the front lip, side skirts, adjustable rear pressure wing and rear diffuser. All in all, this is a reduction of 70 kilograms to a final curb weight of 1,550 kg.

Do you think this is the end of the list of modifications? You would lose 20-inch forged wheels, carbon-ceramic brake discs, electronically controlled rear differential, adaptive chassis and Launch control system.
