Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG goes on sale

It has been almost half a year since the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz officially presented the SL 65 AMG premium roadster, which will reach its future owners in just a few months. And only today the car manufacturer published the base price of the model, which will go on sale for 236,334 euros, which translates to approximately 5.88 million crowns.

For this money, however, customers will get a bloated, twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6.0 liters from the AMG workshops, which is tuned to an output of 463 kW (621 hp) at 4,800 rpm and an equally impressive torque of 1,000 Nm available from 2,300 rpm. The power unit is connected to the wheels of the rear axle via the new AMG SPEEDSHIFT Plus 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with four preset modes: Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual.

What do these numbers mean? Nothing less than acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and a maximum speed that is necessarily limited to 250 km/h. And if anyone was interested in consumption, it has also dropped between generations thanks to the reduction in curb weight by a significant 170 kilograms, by a very respectable 17% to 11.6 l/100km in combined mode.

However, it's not just the power unit that sets this beauty apart from the standard version. The attention-grabbing sports chassis, sports exhaust system with a pair of chrome tailpipes and, above all, the optical package including a modified front bumper with large air intakes, 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, red brake calipers, brake discs made of ceramic composite, chrome V12 lettering will certainly attract attention. Biturbo behind the front wheels, a discreet spoiler on the trunk lid and a completely new rear bumper.

However, the differences do not end there. Inside, we can notice a pair of sporty and ventilated seats upholstered in Nappa leather, carbon dashboard accessories, an analog clock from the Swiss company IWC or top-quality BeoSound audio from Denmark's Bang & Olufsen with a power of 900 W and twelve speakers.

And for those who want to stand out even more with their luxurious and exclusive car, the car company has prepared a limited edition for the 45th anniversary of the founding of the AMG company. The limiter for another 36,000 euros is mainly characterized by ten-spoke wheels in the shade of titanium, matte graphite paint, a bit of leather, logos and traditional plaques. So no ready-made clothes. Only 45 examples will be produced.
