McLaren is preparing a truly ultimate version of the P1 hypersport

McLaren has already made a profit after three years and can also afford to invest in new models . One of them will be the purely circuit version of the McLaren P1 , following the exclusivity and the GTR designation to the legendary supersport F1.

Update 7/28/2014 – Added the first official sketch, showing the rear end with a massive rear wing, new diffuser or twin tailpipes.

The P1 GTR will only be offered to customers who have already purchased a regular P1 at a price of 866,000 pounds (approx. 29.7 million crowns) and are also willing to pay 1.98 million pounds (approx. 68 million crowns) for its racing sibling.

It is true that the car's capabilities will also jump in proportion to the price – the British manufacturer is ready to increase the power to 1000 horsepower , sticky racing tires, wider axles or a fixed rear wing instead of the retractable one of the regular model.

Production of the P1 GTR could begin sometime next year, which is when McLaren will end production of 375 road- going P1s and when the original F1 GTR will celebrate its twentieth birthday. Production will be strictly limited, and in addition to the car itself, owners will be able to consult their physical condition with McLaren's fitness team, get access to the British automaker's simulator, and participate in at least six international P1 GTR driver meetings a year.

It is not yet clear whether owners will be able to enjoy their car year-round, or if McLaren will drive it along with other cars to pre-determined events, as is the case with Ferrari with the FXX program .
