Maserati GranCabrio MC presented in Paris

I've always said it, I'll keep saying it, and I'm thinking about it now. In short, cars of Italian provenance are miles away from their competition in terms of their design. I'm not just talking to the wind, just look at the new Maserati GranCabrio MC , which we already informed you about this week and which was officially presented today at the International Motor Show in Paris .

And how does the new product differ from the GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport versions? Above all, a more aggressive look, which will give them a completely new front bumper with large air intakes. There are also holes for cooling the brakes, heat removal from these areas and integrated LEDs for daytime running lights. Also new are carbon accessories such as exterior mirrors, rear pressure wing or front lollipop. The crowning glory is the charming 20-inch MD Design light-alloy wheels with either a matte or glossy surface shod with 360×32 front and 330×28 rear tires.

Under the hood of this beauty is a forked eight-cylinder with a displacement of 4.7 liters, which produces a power of 338 kW (460 hp) and a maximum torque of 520 Nm, which is available at 4750 revolutions per minute. This power unit is connected as standard to a six-speed automatic transmission from the ZF workshops, which comes in five driving modes: Auto-Normal , Auto-Sport , Manual-Normal , Manual-Sport and Ice . What does this pile of numbers and cylinders mean? Nothing less than acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in a very respectable 4.9 seconds and a maximum speed close to 300 km/h. Powerful Brembo brakes with calipers made of a single piece of aluminum take care of the safe stopping of such a raging monster.
