Lincoln is preparing a twin Ford Mustang!

The American brand Lincoln is a luxury offshoot of the blue oval, or Ford . Unfortunately, by January 2012, things were not easy for Lincoln , so he had to change his priorities and presented the MKZ luxury sedan concept at the Detroit Auto Show. The MKZ was then shown in a series version at the exhibition center in New York. According to the latest news, the American automaker is planning a coupe that should be based on the Ford Mustang .

However, it is not yet officially confirmed, as it depends on how the new MKZ will do in the markets. In addition to the coupe, it is also known that behind the scenes of the brand there is talk of a compact crossover with the designation MKD , and that must also sell well. If the mentioned two models are not successful, then Ford will have no choice but to send Lincoln to the automotive heaven . And whether the sedan or the crossover succeed, at the end of 2015 we will see a rear-wheel drive coupe under the 2016 or 2017 model year, which will be based on the Ford Mustang . After the coupe, the following models could come – MKS, MKX, the new Navigator and an SUV based on the Ford Explorer .

The new coupe could have a 2.9 -liter six-cylinder Ecoboost under the hood and offer a longer wheelbase than the named Mustang . A coupe will be revealed first, but Lincoln is also considering a rear-wheel-drive flagship based on the next-generation Mustang (arriving before 2020).
