The Lamborghini car company has finally decided and released official photos and information about its new model – the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster , which will make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show . The brand itself mentioned about it: "It is the most emotional Lamborghini of all time".
The Roadster will build on the success of the coupe, which has already sold more than 1,300 units worldwide. The newly revealed Aventador Roadster will offer a Targa -style two-piece carbon roof weighing just 6kg. The removable roof can be removed in seconds and storage space has been reserved for it in the front luggage compartment, which is not in use anyway. The roof panels are made from forged carbon directly at Lamborghini .
The Italian brand said that the Aventador Roadster will mainly solve the shortcomings of its predecessor, the Murciélago Roadster , such as better and faster removal of the roof. Sant'Agata engineers also redesigned the B-pillars, which also have an automatic rollover protection system. The open version of the Aventador also features two new aerodynamic elements. Lamborghini engineers have installed an adjustable rear window that can control the airflow over the car, as well as the amount of engine noise passengers can hear when driving without the roof. There's a wind detector on top of the windshield that promises to "provide almost complete calm" in the cabin when the roof is down. The Aventador Roadster is also distinguished from the coupe by a completely new engine cover. It protrudes a kind of "spine" with two hexagonal windows. The "scissor" doors have a beveled edge for frameless windows that slide into the carbon roof.
In the back of the hardtop model, we find the same drive unit as in the coupe, i.e. A 6.5-liter naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine with an output of 700 horsepower, which is transmitted to all wheels via a seven-speed ISG automatic transmission with paddles under the steering wheel. The mentioned motorization also boasts (unfortunately) the following technologies – cylinder deactivation system and Start/Stop system. The Roadster accelerates to 100 km/h in exactly 3 seconds, which is a 0.1 second decrease compared to the coupe. The maximum speed has not changed and remains at the same value – 350 km/h.
The exposed piece is shown in the photos in a two-tone version. Gloss black paint was added to the Azzuro Thetis color, which was also available on the 1968 Miura Roadster , and can be found on, for example, the pillars or the roof. The highlight of the exterior modifications are the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels, with which the Roadster loses 10 kg in weight.
If you are so interested in the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster and would like to have it in front of your house, do not hesitate and order. The price was set at 300,000 Euros without tax (converted to about 7.61 million crowns) and sales will start next summer.
