Jaguar will build a limited number of the F-Type Project 7

The first model of the newly established Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations division will be the serial form of the successful Project 7 concept from last year. Although the British carmaker will produce only a few units, each of them can boast the title of the fastest and most powerful production Jaguar in history.

It is perhaps surprising how similar last year's concept is to this year's production version. Jaguar retained the front window, which is shorter than the classic F-Type, as well as a carbon bodykit , including a front splitter, rear diffuser or side skirts, reducing the model's weight by 80 kg, along with the roof mechanism being removed ( 1,585 kg total). The rear wing has also been retained, which certainly contributes to a higher downforce at maximum speed , which is 177% greater compared to the F-Type V8 S from which it is based.

What has changed compared to last year is the possibility to transfer two passengers in the interior, who will be able to use the decent canvas roof. The door sills with the inscription Project 7 are also new, for an extra charge you can get racing four-point belts or a leather steering wheel (Alcantara upholstered as standard). You can choose one of four colors – green, blue, red or white. The car is always equipped with white graphic stickers (can be removed if desired) and especially in green it looks very similar to the legendary D-Type model.

Under the hood, we find a supercharged five-liter eight-cylinder with an output of 574 hp and a torque of 681 Nm, which, together with an eight-speed ZF automatic and an electronic self-locking on the rear axle , will ensure the roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 299 km/h h. Of course, the rear wheels are driven. The adjustable chassis received a new setting of adaptive dampers and springs, which compared to the F-Type V8 S is stiffer at the front by 50% and at the rear by 8%. The negative deflection of the front axle has also increased, and torque vectoring can be mentioned among the electronic aids.

Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes with a diameter of 398 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear are hidden behind the 20-inch Storm wheels with optional Continental ForceContact tires. Only 250 units of the Project 7 F-Type will be produced and each one will cost around £135,000 (approx. CZK 4,622,000).
