Jaguar has confirmed the production of the F-Type roadster

Yesterday , Jaguar finally confirmed the launch of a brand new sports car into series production! At the New York Auto Show, the news came from the mouth of Jaguar brand CEO Adrian Hallmark , who added: " We presented the C-X16 concept in September last year and the response was so positive that we accelerated the development of an all-new sports car." The model will bear the designation F-Type and the production form will be revealed towards the end of this year . Halllmark also admits that Jaguar has not had a representative in the two-seater sports car segment for too long.

The F-Type will be presented as a two-seater convertible with an all-aluminum construction and a wide range of gasoline engines. Jaguar didn't provide any details, but there was mention of new powertrains, with a strong focus on handling. With this commitment, F-Type prototypes have already left the gates of the Castle Bromwich plant, where they will also be produced.

Head of Design Ian Callum said: “A true sports car must be pure in purpose and meaning. The Jaguar C-type, D-type and E-type were sports cars that already fulfilled these criteria in their time. For the F-Type, that time will come very soon.
