Extended wheelbase Infiniti M introduced for the Chinese market

The press days of the Chinese motor show may be over, but hot news is still popping up on the internet. As such, the Infiniti M is definitely not one of them, but here it can be seen with an extended wheelbase.

The Chinese market is very different from the European one. The biggest change in the premium class is higher requirements for comfort and space in the rear seats. But if we think about the growth of the majority of the population there, it turns out that they are simply a little pissed off. However, this fact applies more or less to managers and wealthy investors, for whom the Infiniti M is intended.

The extension of the wheelbase must also be visible from the outside, so that the vehicle visually approaches the famous American limousines. The Infiniti M LWB therefore has 150 millimeters more space between the axles, the vast majority of which is reflected in the interior in the space on the rear seats. However, the sloping roofline is still preserved and the longer rear doors look quite natural.

The interior has everything that influential people may need to meet the highest demands for comfort. The comfortable leather seats are some of the best in their class, and the standard Bose audio system creates a concert hall atmosphere. For an additional fee, it is possible to purchase an entertainment system with two LCD displays, a separate air conditioning unit for the rear passengers and an automatic air ionizer that removes bacteria and allergens.

In the local market, the car will be available with two engines. The basic petrol six-cylinder has a volume of 2.5 liters and provides an output of 173 kW. However, due to the low torque of only 253 Nm, I would rather choose a more powerful hybrid system with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder, supported by an electric motor. The maximum power of 240 kW is supported by excellent fuel consumption, which does not exceed 10 liters of gasoline even with a brisk driving style.

The Infiniti M LWB will go on sale in the Chinese market as early as June. If the car arrives in Europe, we can also expect a turbocharged six-cylinder diesel with a power of 175 kW under the hood.
