The Sergio concept was presented in Geneva

Who does not know the Italian design studio Pininfarina , in which really beautiful and luxurious cars are designed and manufactured. The talented team was headed by Sergio Pininfarina , who sadly passed away last July. And it was in honor of his memory that they created a concept bearing his name – Sergio .

The Pininfarina Sergio study is built on the foundations of the Ferrari 458 Spider , literally, as the Sergio also has an identical wheelbase to the 458 Spider. As usual, the Italian speedster lacks a windshield, so the design studio gave the car a larger splitter to compensate and improve aerodynamics. Behind the seats there is a solid spoiler that protects the crew and increases downforce on the rear axle.

Pininfarina stated that the torsional rigidity of the body is greater than that of the 458 Spider , thanks to the smaller doors, which rise to a size of 45 degrees. Compared to the original Ferrari, the Sergio concept study is 150 kg lighter . At the back of the car is a 4.5 -liter eight-cylinder with a capacity of 562 horsepower and a seven-speed gearbox with two clutches that transmits power to the rear wheels. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes place in 3.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 320 km/h.

In conclusion, the Italian studio stated: " Sergio continues the tradition of special one-off models for special clients, that is, the car is real, not some show car." If there is interest, we can produce this concept".
