Is Gumpert out of financial trouble?

Last year , the Gumpert car company fell almost into bankruptcy and subsequently into automotive heaven. Fortunately, she managed to get out of it, even find an investor and show the first swallow of the new collaboration in Geneva .

That swallow is the modernized Apollo S supersport . It differs from the previous model mainly in the engine compartment. The eight-cylinder with a volume of 4.2 liters has increased by 50 horses , so that it now has an output of 750 horses at 6000 rpm. The maximum torque rose to 900 Nm at 4,000 rpm, while the acceleration to 100 km/h decreased to 2.9 seconds.

One of the three transmissions offered will take care of power transmission on the road. The basis is a fully synchronized six-wheel drive, you can also have a sequential gearbox with manual gear shifting or an electronic system with paddles under the steering wheel.

Underneath the carbon bodywork, at least in terms of material, is a real gem. The chrome-molybdenum frame is followed by a carbon-kevlar monocoque and a carbon-aluminum chassis . Safe stopping is ensured by six-piston brakes with ventilated discs with a diameter of 378 mm. The brakes are hidden behind the nineteen and twenty inch wheels.
