Ginetta G40R – Premiere at Salon Privé

The small British car manufacturer Ginetta will bring the new G40R model to the Salon Privé event held in West London in September. The older G60 will also be exhibited alongside it. We have information for you about both cars.

The Ginetta brand is not known worldwide, but its cars are still worth noting. The history of the brand began in 1958, when it was founded by the Walklett brothers, and the current headquarters is in the town of Leeds in West Yorkshire. Ginetta specializes in lightweight road and circuit cars.

Next week from September 4th to 6th, an event called Salon Privé will be held in West London. Ginetta will not miss this event and will bring a new car to the premiere – the G40R model (photo in the gallery). It is based on the circuit special G40 and is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from Mazda . The power of 200 horsepower flows through a six-speed manual (also from Mazda) to the driven rear axle.

The Ginetta G40R benefits from a very low weight of 850 kg and thanks to this it is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 225 km/ h . The circuit origin is not denied by the elements approved by the FIA federation, namely the space frame, the fuel tank, the racing alloy wheels or the lightweight seats with five-point belts.

Alongside the Ginetta G40R , the larger G60 model will also be exhibited (photo in the gallery). It has a body made of carbon , thanks to which the weight of the whole car is 1,080 kg . A V6 with a volume of 3.7 liters originally from a Ford Mustang takes care of turning the rear wheels. The engine's power is 310 horsepower , which propels the light Ginetta G60 from rest to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and to a maximum speed of 265 km/h .
