Modifications of the Mustang with the name of the legendary constructor Carroll Shelby are an integral part of every generation of the American muscle car, and its latest edition will not be an exception. Although we won't see the most powerful version of the GT500 yet, even the weaker GT350 has a lot to offer.
First of all, it is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter eight-cylinder with a flat crankshaft, never before used in an eight-cylinder Ford, with a power of more than 507 horsepower with a torque of more than 542 Nm. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. In addition to the new engine, the GT350 received a stiffer chassis, MagnaRide adaptive dampers , a five-mode control unit, and an optional Track Pack that adds an oil cooler in the engine and transmission.
Compared to the standard Mustang, the weight will be several kilograms lower , which is contributed by, among other things, the aluminum hood or the carbon radiator mask. And when we talk about visual changes, it is necessary to mention the completely aerodynamically optimized body with a front splitter or a rear diffuser that improves downforce. The stylish wheels have a size of 19 inches and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires , which were developed especially for this model. Behind them we find Brembo brakes with a diameter of 394 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear, respectively with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear.
The interior impresses with Recaro sports seats and a flattened steering wheel. Due to the reflections of the sun's rays, the number of chrome and shiny surfaces has been reduced. For an additional fee, you can opt for the Tech Pack with electronically controlled leather seats, dual-zone climate control or Ford's MyTouch multimedia system. But who would want such elements in a sports car, right?
