Citroën Numero 9 will be presented in Beijing

It won't be long before the gates of this year's Beijing Auto Show open . Our microscope will certainly not miss the Volkswagen stand , where the Beetle Cabrio will be presented , but above all the exhibition area of the French Citroën . Here we will be able to admire the Numero 9 concept , which will be another representative of the DS series in serial form .

Citroën Numero 9 is situated in the upper limit of the upper middle class due to its proportions. The automaker has long needed a proper premium sedan, and it is precisely the word proper that describes the concept. It is mainly about its dimensions – 4.93 meters in length, 1.94 meters in width and only 1.27 meters in height. If we add a three-meter wheelbase and 21" wheels to this combination, we have a car that is unmatched not only by Citroën , but also by the vast majority of competitors! However, the height of the concept is very much at the limit, so we will see a much higher number in serial form.

Numero 9 respects current trends, and as a concept it is built as a full hybrid. The base is a turbocharged 16-litre THP engine with a power of 165 kW and a torque of 275 Nm. The internal combustion engine is followed by a rear-mounted electric motor with an output of 52 kW and a torque of 200 Nm. Here we meet the company's Hybrid4 four-wheel drive, where the front wheels are powered by a gasoline unit and the rear axle is solely in charge of the electric motor. The total output of both units is a very respectable 217 kW.

Like other full hybrids, the Numero 9 is also able to operate with zero emissions. In this mode, thanks to the lithium-ion cells, the real range is about 50 kilometers, in case of necessary acceleration, the "boost" function is available. At the same time, the manufacturer indicates consumption at the limit of 2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. Therefore, the hybrid future may not be so bad, especially if a diesel version is also included.

Due to the large dimensions and the mentioned hybrid drive, we encounter an unprecedentedly low total weight. It is therefore not surprising that a car weighing 1,500 kilograms accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of over 240 km/h.

The Autosalon in Beijing will open its doors already on April 23. Immediately after the presentation of the car, we will bring another batch of information.
