Chevrolet declassified the performance parameters of the new Vette Z06

The original specifications of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 claimed that the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 produced more than 634 horsepower and 861 Nm of torque. Now Chevrolet has come up with the exact figures that not only rounded the engine output to a nice number, but also made the Z06 the most powerful GM production car ever.

The 6.2-liter V8 of the LT4 series doped with a 1.7-liter Eaton supercharger gives the Corvette Z06 a power of 660 hp at 6400 rpm and a torque of 880 Nm at 3600 rpm! At the same time, immediately after starting, the driver has 619 Nm of torque at his disposal, and 847 Nm is available from 2800 rpm. A seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmits power to the rear wheels.

The unit is based on the 6.2 LT1 V8 that powered the classic Corvette Stingray, which means the same direct injection, deactivation of up to half the cylinders and variable valve timing. At the same time, however, the Z06 has stronger cylinder heads , lighter titanium intake valves, steel connecting rods, aluminum pistons, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. Then, of course, there's the 1.7-liter Eaton supercharger with intercooler that can spin up to 20,000 rpm!

Chevrolet boasts that in addition to the title of the most powerful car from GM, the Vette Z06 is also one of the few cars offered in the USA that have a power of over 600 horsepower . Compared to its predecessor , which had an atmospheric seven-liter eight-cylinder of the LS7 series under the hood, the novelty has 29% more power and 40% more torque, compared to the supercharged Corvette ZR1 , it is 7.5% more torque. In addition, compared to both cars, the power curve is more flexible and provides power at virtually any rpm.
