The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray celebrates one success after another in America. In addition to its high popularity among customers, the legendary sports car won up to 20 different awards last year. To ensure that interest does not wane, the car manufacturer with the golden cross in its emblem has prepared a discreet facelift, three new design packages and a limited series version of the Z06.
All 2016 'Vettes will feature a new, flattened-bottom steering wheel, revised silver , black or chrome wheel designs, and two new body colors – Corvette Racing Yellow and Long Beach Red Metallic. Optional equipment includes a carbon hood , two-tone GT seats in leather or suede microfiber, red or yellow stitching in the case of the black 3LT Jet interior, and Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension in models without the Z51 package.
The first of three new packages, available for both the regular Corvette and the Corvette Z06, is called Twilight Blue Design . It includes a Twilight Blue interior, Motorsport alloy wheels, gray or red brake calipers, a rear spoiler on Stingray models without the Z51 package and a blue canvas roof on open body versions. The color palette includes Shark Grey, Blade Silver, Arctic White and Night Race Blue, with tri-colour body stripes available for an extra charge.
The Spice Red Design Package includes polished wheels in a Motorsport design, a rear spoiler on Stingray models without the Z51 package and an interior or cloth roof on the Cabriolet in Spice Red. The bodywork is painted in Long Beach red metallic, Shark gray, Blade silver or Arctic white. The final newcomer is the Jet Black Suede Design Package with carbon badging, a rear spoiler on Stingray models without the Z51 package, a black and graphic hood scoop, black wheels with a red stripe, and a black microfiber interior. The convertible received a black canvas roof, which can be combined with black, silver (Blade), white (Arctic) or red (Torch) color of the rest of the body.
An equally successful chapter in the life of the Corvette Stingray is its racing version C7.R , to which the 500-unit Corvette Z06 C7.R series now pays tribute. From the regular Z06, the special is distinguished by the standard Z07 Performance package (Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with yellow calipers, Michelin PS Cup 2 tires and a unique VIN number), black wheels with a yellow stripe and the Corvette Racing logo in the middle, and carbon elements including the intake opening on hood. There is a choice of black or yellow paint in combination with the unique C7.R graphics and the mask or intake holes in Spectra gray metallic.
The suede microfiber-upholstered Competition Sport seats , the steering wheel and the shift knob are complemented by black leather upholstery and the microfiber-covered dashboard and door panels. In addition, all these elements have contrasting yellow stitching . The decorations were made of carbon fiber, the Corvette Racing door sills are also unique.
