Borgward announced the resurrection and brought the original Isabella

In its heyday, the Borgward car company had twenty-three thousand employees and sold more than a million cars a year. Today, however, the ground collapsed after her. Well, until now, now this famous name of German automotive history is said to be back.

They did not bring any new car to Geneva , but a beautifully restored Isabella Coupé from the 1950s with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. This piece belongs directly to the Borgward family. The car is painted in a color combination reminiscent of the Chevrolet Bel Air of the same era.

But Borgward has bigger plans than displaying old cars. After a fifty-year absence, the car company wants to return to the market and gain a global reputation as a manufacturer of precise, progressive and high-quality cars. In short, the kind that customers are used to from German manufacturers. Moreover, the new Borgwards should make their owners proud, as Isabella did in the 1950s. No one knows yet whether the modern premium car will be a large limousine, a sports coupe or a small city vehicle. That is, no one except the boss Christian Borgward and the designer Einar J. Hareide . However, the most likely is some more practical car with a hybrid or electric drive. Anyway, Borgward could fit the segment well.
