BMW presented the 30th anniversary edition of the BMW M5

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the BMW M5 – the founder of the segment of high-performance executive sedans – BMW is presenting an exclusive edition of the current, already fifth-generation M5, called the 30 Jahre M5 .

Only 300 examples of the limited-edition M5 will be seen in the world, each of which will have a body in Individual Frozen Dark silver with dark chrome elements. Twenty-inch wheels have 265/35 ZR20 tires at the front and 295/30 ZR20 at the rear. The interior is distinguished by upholstery in a combination of Merino leather and Alcantara along with special model badges and aluminum accessories.

All M5 30 Jahre M5s will be equipped with the Competition package , which is otherwise available at an additional cost. As part of it, the M5 is equipped with a chassis lowered by 10 mm , a reprogrammed M Dynamic mode or modified DSC stabilization.

A separate chapter of the new model is the 4.4-liter eight-cylinder with two turbos , which work with greater turbo filling pressure. The result is a power output of 600 hp and a torque of 700 Nm – compared to the classic model, this means an increase of 40 hp and 20 Nm. Despite the weight of 1870 kg, thanks to the higher power, the M5 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (an improvement of 0.4 seconds) and hit the obligatory 250 km/h . Even in the case of a limited series, however, the M Driver's package can be purchased, which unlocks the limiter and allows the M5 to go up to 305 km/h. The seven-speed dual-clutch DCT transmission remained standard, with which the M5 30 Jahre M5 consumes "only" 9.9 l/100 km.
