Audi is also celebrating 25 years of TDI engines

Audi is celebrating 25 years of TDI engines this year, and it has already given itself one gift – the RS5 TDI concept , however, only demonstrates the possible future power of the diesel sports car. The second gift is the somewhat more affordable special series 3.0 TDI Competition of the A7 Sportback model.

As the name of the model already suggests, under the hood we find a three-liter six-cylinder clean diesel engine with a pair of turbochargers with an output of 326 hp, which is 6 hp more than in the series thanks to additional modifications. However, if you opt for maximum acceleration with the pedal on the floor, the engine can add another 20 horsepower to the output for a few seconds, bringing the maximum output to 346 horsepower . A torque of 650 Nm is available between 1400 – 2800 rpm. The only option is Quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic , which allows the A7 to accelerate in 5.1 seconds with consumption of 6.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 162 g/km. Of course, the engine meets the Euro 6 emission standard.

Standard equipment for the special series is the S line package , which includes a 20 mm lowered sports suspension, 20-inch black wheels with 265/35 R20 tires and 17-inch brake discs with red calipers. Visually, sportier bumpers and elements in glossy black (radiator mask, mirrors, exhaust tips), contrasting with the offered body paints – Nardo Gray, Misano Red, Daytona Gray and Sepang Blue. Revolutionary Matrix LED lights are also available for an extra charge.

The interior features seats upholstered in Valcona leather in black or silver, black wood and aluminum trim and door sills with the quattro logo. The first units will be available on the domestic market at the beginning of August, the base price was set at 72,000 euros (approx. 1,976,000 CZK).
