The Porsche 911 Targa 4/4S was presented at the Detroit Auto Show

At Detroit's NAIAS auto show, Porsche unveiled the latest generation of the extravagant open-top version of the 911 with traditional styling and the 911 Targa designation. Authorized Porsche Centers in Prague and Brno will start selling 911 Targa 4 and Targa 4S models on May 10, 2014 .

For the first time ever, it combines the classic Targa solution with the latest roof construction . As was the case with the legendary first generation Targa model, the new model is also characterized by a wide pillar placed in place of the B-pillar , movable roof parts above the front seats and a rear window without the classic C-pillars. In contrast to the original model, the modern roof can be opened or closed by simply pressing the button . When opening the roof, the roof parts are spectacularly hidden behind the rear seats . The car is equipped with the PTM all-wheel drive typical of the Porsche brand, which prefers the rear axle and also in its latest generation offers the highest level of dynamics on a variety of surfaces and in all weather conditions.

The new 911 Targa is an innovative new edition of the classic car from 1965 . The novelty is technically closest to the 911 Carrera 4 models, from which it takes over the technology and body up to the height of the side windows. The sporty look of the new model is given by the extended rear body, typical of all-wheel drive models, as well as the large and rounded rear window.

As was the case with the previous generation, the latest version of the Targa also comes in two versions with all-wheel drive. The 911 Targa 4 is powered by a 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder boxer engine with 350 horsepower. With the PDK transmission and the Sport Chrono package, it accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 282 km/h. Depending on the transmission, this model has a combined fuel consumption in the range of 9.5 to 8.7 l/100 km (223 to 204 g/km CO 2 ).

It reaches a speed of up to 296 km/h and with the PDK transmission and the Sport Chrono package accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds . Depending on the transmission used, consumption ranges from 10.0 to 9.2 l/100 km (237 to 214 g/km CO 2 ). Performance and driving dynamics, as well as economy, are at the extraordinary level of the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet models . Both models meet the Euro 6 emission standard .
