Aston unveiled a new concept in Geneva

The individual premieres of the Geneva Motor Show are usually revealed days and weeks before the official opening of the Palexpo exhibition center. There are so few real surprises, and we journalists and actually car enthusiasts acknowledge them with gratitude . Perhaps the most interesting Swiss surprise is the future of the GT segment in the form of the Aston Martin DBX .

The four-seater coupe is camouflaged in front of the audience with Black Pearl Chromium paint , which was created by mixing the standard black shade of Pearl and shiny chrome particles. Except for the ground clearance in combination with the big wheels, the individual elements fit exactly into the Aston Martin family, and yes, I'm talking mainly about the front part with a distinctive radiator grille and unconventionally designed active LED headlights . Classic rear-view mirrors have been replaced by cameras. Progress simply cannot be stopped . In the rear, not only the massive silver frames of the side windows stand out, but also the light strip across the entire width of the car.

The cabin is completely upholstered in brown Nubuck leather and is mainly oriented towards the driver. You would be looking for a center console here, and the steering wheel looks like it was designed by one of the famous comic book superheroes. Both the driver and passenger have their own head up display , the windows are self-darkening and these are definitely not the only unusual technical solutions.

Electric motors built into the wheels, powered by lithium-sulfur cells , are used to drive the car. The DBX is thus the first four-wheeler in the history of the brand. The electric steering uses drive-by-wire technology, the carbon-ceramic brakes have an integrated kinetic energy recovery system for a change.
