Aston Martin acquired a new majority shareholder

It has been known for a long time that the former majority shareholder of Aston Martin , The Investment Dar , is in financial trouble. That is why the management of the company, led by David Richrads , started looking for a strategic partner.

Among the initial interested parties, among whom were, for example, the Indian Mahindra or the Japanese Toyota , the Italian company Investindustrial finally crystallized. Doesn't this name mean anything to you? It is a mistake! Investindustrial is an Italian firm that was previously the owner of Ducati , which was acquired by Volkswagen this summer.

Investindustrial acquired a majority, 37.5 percent stake in the traditional British brand for 150 million pounds (approx. 4.3 billion crowns). In addition, there is speculation behind the scenes that the Italian company has very good contacts with Mercedes and especially with its AMG division. This could be very beneficial for Aston.

All three parties said they were happy with the deal, and Richards also noted that it could mean a bright future for the automaker. But only time will tell if that will actually happen.
