The Shelby GT350R Mustang with an atmospheric eight-cylinder engine, which is more of a factory creation, is shown in full display at the slowly ending Detroit Auto Show . So if you want a really powerful Mustang , you might be interested in another part from Shelby American .
The Shelby GT is a pure sports modification of the Mustang GT , which means nothing more than a five-liter eight-cylinder engine under the hood. And since we are looking at a muscle car, the presence of a Ford Racing supercharger and a modified exhaust system is not surprising. The result is a power output of 635 horsepower, which, however, may not be final. The absolute peak is more than 709 horses , available thanks to other and unspecified modifications. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by a manual transmission with shortened gearshift paths, but an automatic is also available as an alternative.
In order to cope with the higher portion of power, the chassis received stronger stabilizers , better shock absorbers and springs. Wilwood six-piston disc brakes sit behind 20-inch wheels shod with 275/35 R20 front and 305/30 R20 Michelin tires . In addition to the new wheels, the Mustang also received a carbon hood , front splitter, side skirts, mirror covers, a bar between the taillights and a spoiler. There is a new aluminum frame around the radiator grille, there will also be "fast" stripes and a false tank cap. Changes to the interior include seat backs with the manufacturer's logo , carbon trim, a special plaque and floor mats , respectively sills with Shelby lettering.
The whole package will cost 39,995 dollars (approx. 961,000 crowns) and you still have to add the basic Mustang GT, which will cost at least 1,005,000 crowns in the Czech Republic. The schedule is already open, but Shelby will not deliver the first cars before the second half of the year.
