Alfa is apparently preparing a Jaguar F-Type competitor

The powerful model offensive of Italian Alfa Romeo will not only include a pair of SUVs , the Giulia sedan and its sporty derivative with the GTA (or QV) logo , but also the new 6C coupe . According to the name, it will fit between the already (non)produced types 4C and 8C Competizione, while at least it should flood the Jaguar F-Type .

The Alfa Romeo 6C will be based on the upcoming production version of the Maserati Alfieri concept , which is planned for 2016. The 6C will follow a year later. Although the silhouette of the car with the fenders extended will be very similar to the Maserati, the typical Alfa features, such as the shield-shaped radiator grille or the LED lights, will not be missing.

The front-mounted engine will also be based on the Alfieri, offering six cylinders, three liters of displacement and twin turbocharging. Its performance will be somewhere between 480-520 horses, which is dangerously close to the Jaguar F-Type Coupé V8 R or the Porsche 911 Turbo, as well as the upcoming sporty Giulia. However, like the pair of SUVs, the 6C will not share a rear-wheel drive platform. Again, I will have to use the connection with Maserati, because under the body we will find a shortened platform of the Ghibli sedan.

As with the 4C and 8C, production will be strictly limited to a maximum of a few thousand units. Let me remind you that the 4C will be produced in the number of 3500 pieces and 500 of the 8C Competizione were produced in the coupé version and 500 in the version with a folding roof.
