Jaguar – the future revealed!

The British car manufacturer Jaguar showed the new F-Type roadster at the Paris Motor Show and is now only waiting for the premiere of its sharpest sedan XFR-S in Los Angeles. What comes next? Yesterday, the first details of the brand's future were revealed.

The main surprise is that Jaguar is said to be working on a successor to the X-Type , codenamed X760 and expected in 2015. It will likely be built on a lighter PLA platform and offer rear- or all-wheel drive. According to speculations, it could also be presented in a crossover body variant. It would be revealed in 2016, but for now it is not officially confirmed.

Another codename X260 hides the modernized XF . It should continue to offer a sedan and a station wagon, but there is also talk of a third form – a crossover is the most likely option. The next generation XJ under the name X360 is planned for 2017 in three body styles. The classic sedan will have a less conservative design, bringing it closer to the BMW 7 Series or the Mercedes S Class . Next up will be a Mercedes CLS-style four-door coupe and a top-of-the-range model rumored to be a "Bentley Continental Flying Spur at half the price."

In the coming years, we should also expect the F-Type in coupe, powerful RS and all-wheel drive versions. The new XK generation will get more powerful engines and therefore more success than before is expected. However, due to financial constraints, it will still have the same platform, which will only undergo a redesign.
