Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition

As hard as it is to believe, next year the legendary Corvette will celebrate its 60th birthday. And what is the best way to celebrate them? Well, some kind of special edition. In this case, it refers to the convertible with the moniker 427, which will hit the market at the beginning of the summer of this year.

The automaker itself refers to this version as the fastest convertible that has ever appeared in the history of this model. After all, there is nothing to be surprised about. The engine is powered by a 7.0-liter V8 engine from the Z06 with an output of 377 kW (505 hp) and 637 Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Corvette 427 with a curb weight of 1522 kilograms can accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in an excellent 3.8 seconds. The quarter mile can be completed in 11.8 seconds and the maximum speed is 306 kilometers per hour.

The reduced weight compared to the standard version is primarily due to the use of carbon fibers on the front hood, fenders and door sills. There is also a light front splitter and ultra-light wheels shod with Michelin PS2 tires.

An interesting piece of candy is the annual edition 60th Anniversary Package, which can be ordered for all versions of the current Corvette, including the aforementioned 427. This is a design package that includes a snow-white exterior, a blue leather interior, a ZR1-style rear spoiler and optional racing stripes.
