Petr Novague showed the modern reincarnation of the Skoda 110 R

Two years ago, the successful Czech designer Petr Novague (real name Petr Novák) came up with the idea of reviving one of the most beautiful Czech cars of the last century. So, at least on paper, the Skoda 110 R Coupé got a modern sister named Erko R2 . Even then, the car was ready for small-series production, but it still took another year and a half to assemble the first prototype. The result of the work is the R200 Non-Fiction coupe , the first piece of which can be seen in the DOX gallery in Prague until May 11.

Although it may be a bit of a shame, the domestic carmaker was not involved in the development of the orange model, so you won't find its emblem or inscription on the body or anywhere else. Instead, Marek Hoffmann will take care of the small series production through his company Kovovýroba Hoffmann, which also cooperates with, for example, Bentley or Volkswagen. After all, it was the concern parts that the Novague Hoffmann couple used the most during production.

The basis of the 4400 mm long , 1300 mm high and 2000 mm wide R200 prototype is the Audi R8 of the previous generation with an atmospheric eight-cylinder engine with a capacity of 430 hp, all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. Even the creators themselves do not yet know the exact dynamic data, because the tests will only take place after the end of the presentation in the DOX gallery , on a fully functional exhibition prototype. Some elements of the all-aluminum body with composite details also come from the company's models. At the front, the side windows are again from the R8, the front lights are from Bentley and the rear from Lamborghini. After all, anyone who is attentive cannot fail to notice a similar silhouette to that of the Audi R8, which has been mentioned several times.

Despite all the kinship with luxury models of famous brands , the appearance of the body is completely original and unmistakable. The same can be said about the interior, which is covered in black and beige leather with carbon door inserts and funny interior door handles. Even here, however, a sharp eye will find some details from already known models, but again, it is nothing that would reduce the credit of this remarkable achievement by Czech standards.

The start of small-scale production is planned for January 2016, and two pieces are to be created each month, mainly by hand. However, the price of around seven million crowns per piece corresponds to the exclusive production, design and technology. The good news is that the car has all the necessary homologations and can go both on the road and on the circuit. And we can only hope that the ambitious project will not end with just one prototype like some before it…
