Alpina B5 and B6 Edition 50 – Low-key celebrations

Alpina is celebrating 50 years of its existence and has given customers special versions of its B5 Biturbo and B6 Biturbo models to mark the anniversary. The automaker presented both cars in Geneva .

Properly improved BMWs have under the hood 4.4 forked eight-cylinders with two turbochargers , which reach a power of 600 horsepower and a torque of 800 Nm. All that power can only be transmitted to the rear wheels by the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and the Drexler self-locking differential . The powerful cars sprint to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 322 km/h. So if we are talking about a station wagon , the B5 sedan has the same acceleration, but the maximum is 5 km/h higher. The B6 cabriolet has the same values as the sedan, while the B6 coupe can go up to 330 km/h.

In addition to the engine, Alpina also played with the titanium exhaust system supplied by Akrapovic . It is 17 kilograms lighter than the standard steel part. The weight of 15.6 kilograms was also saved by a set of twenty-inch wheels in the characteristic Alpina design. In the interior you will find black and green Nappa leather seats . The stylized signature of Burkard Bovensiepen , the founder of the car company, on the door panels can also be interesting. Only 50 copies of each version will be produced. And common sense tells you to choose it instead of M5 and M6 , don't you think?
