Italdesign GEA Concept – Italian luxury

For this year's Geneva Motor Show , the design studio Italdesign , which belongs to the Volkswagen concern, has prepared the concept of a GEA luxury car. It is supposed to be a harbinger of future luxury cars of the concern.

The sedan is 5370 millimeters long, which is 120 more than the current long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class . The width is 1980 millimeters, the height is 1460 millimeters and the wheelbase is 3330 millimeters. Electric motors with a total output of 570 kW are located directly on the differentials. Thanks to them, the car should be able to drive up to 250 km/h. The concept is made of aluminum , carbon and magnesium , so the weight should not exceed two tons. At first glance, the massive 26-inch big wheels catch your eye.

The exterior design is remotely reminiscent of Audi cars, especially with those LED light strips that change color depending on the driving mode. The car does not have B-pillars , so the rear doors open in the opposite direction of travel. The interior has four individual seats and an integrated smartphone that can be used to control all the car's functions. You can also set the car to three modes – Business , Wellness and Dream . In the first of them, the car is supposed to allow the workaholic businessman to use the time spent on the way to work. GEA will thus be transformed into a mobile office. The LED panels in the doors glow white, two nineteen- inch transparent displays slide out of the roof, and the front passenger seat will be able to rotate 180 ° . The Wellness mode is suitable for long journeys. The car allows passengers to stretch and lightly exercise their muscles thanks to two aluminum handles, and the lighting turns gold. A training film from the Technogym company will then be shown on the screens. Between the seats you can use a machine that prepares you a cold drink or juice, and in the ceiling panel you will find cosmetics or preparations for aromatherapy. The last Dream mode is designed for maximum relaxation. The interior is illuminated in blue, the windows darken automatically and the starry sky is projected on the displays. You can remove the footrests from the seats and turn the rear seats into a comfortable bed.
